You fell yesterday. Straight back on your head. It was the first time you've been hurt, really hurt and I realized that it will happen again. I followed you up the stairs because you want to climb, always climbing, and I realized that this is part of my job for awhile. Standing behind you, supporting you, protecting you from the fall, showing you the safe way. I realized that it won't always be my job. You will one day climb the stairs alone and I pray fiercely that you will choose the only one who can walk behind you always.
For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard. Isaiah 52:12
The way I know you now is quick, you, constantly changing. The beginning of the month you went from scooting to crawling and then almost immediately to pulling up. Now you climb on everything. You got two teeth this month and you love dancing. You will pull up on anything and shake your bootie and bob your cute little head. And I love the way I know you now.
