My Life had Music Today

My life has music today.  The music of dishwasher, baby laughing, baby crying, the lilt of my husbands voice doing business downstairs, the hum of students chatting.  I rocked her to sleep tonight, the little one. Notable because I do not often rock her to sleep.  She normally puts herself to sleep but tonight I rocked her to sleep.  She needed a little extra help, it had been a busy afternoon with errands and taking brother here and there, plus short nap, new tooth. She need a little extra help. I rocked her to sleep tonight and the rhythm slowed for a few moments and I held her there nice and long. Grades calling, dishes calling, laundry calling. I rocked her to sleep tonight.

It was one of those days where you do not think much is going to happen. I thought I might even skip writing tonight but then my man-child, my big strong boy ( I can no longer rock to sleep)surprised me.  I was tired and it was late and I had my eye on the prize (sleep!) But that boy called me in a way that I knew was serious so I went. and he played. See he's been taking lessons, and he's pretty good, but until tonight I did not know it was in his bones.  I did not realize that this was a gift God had given him, and important gift. I cried and I see the blessing he is to me and the blessing he is to the Father.  Lord, may he not forget you, the giver of all gifts and may he give this one back to you with abandon! My life had music today.
