What Does it Mean to be Saved

Do I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead?  What implications would that have in my life...Believe in my heart that God raised him form the dead...I am definitely no theologian. So what does it mean to me? I think it means... like yesterday, when something happened that took my life out of my control for a minute. Something happened that was outside of my plan. Initially I had my own, ugly, self-focused, self-obsessed response, but then the Lord brought his Word to mind. 

1 Peter 3:5,6    For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.

I did not have the right to be afraid and in that moment and by that Word I was saved. Because I do believe that God raised him from the dead.  I do believe that God is who He says He is and can do anything and does as HE pleases and none can stay his hand. And my definition may seem small, but it is what I have and I can not have anything that the Lord doesn't give. But I will continue to ask and to repent and to buy from him gold tried in the fire and robes of righteousness, and eye salve, precious eye salve, that I may see.
